Merri L. Seegrist, LCSW
As unique individuals, we all learn our own ways to cope with uncomfortable feelings and situations. I truly believe that, as humans, we do the best that we know how. Quite often our behaviors are tied to past traumatic events from early childhood, or even responses to our current situations.
I utilize a shame-free, compassionate approach to help you better cope with, and reframe your perspective. In addition, to modifying the way that you may respond to your current life situations. I will help you learn the definition of healthy boundaries, while building the foundation needed for continued health, joy, and well-being. I will help you gain a new level of self-compassion to promote healing, and ultimately, to restore peace in your life.

Outside of Therapy
I believe life is meant to be enjoyed. I love learning and trying new things. Some of my favorite hobbies include hiking, walking, distance running, singing, performing, and traveling. I have 8 beautiful children, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 son-in-laws, and 5 adorable grandchildren. They truly are the love of my life.
In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker I’m also a firefighter and paramedic. I currently provide mental health services for first responders and love working with that population. I also own my own CPR business, providing certified life saving instruction to individuals and business. I have lived in Salt Lake City UT, St. George UT, San Diego CA, and currently Bandon OR.
Life is always giving us challenges and heartache. For me those include the death of my parents, a child, and going through divorce. These experiences have tested me in every way imaginable, and have given me the most growth and have given me the ability to sit with others through very difficult times . I love nature and have found that to be what brings me peace and allows me to feel grounded and connected to God.
